Ok…. I have a gigabyte 370 gaming 7 with BIOS F3 trying to set up a RAID Easy right? but no, it says you have to disable CSM first. Well it won’t let you disable it. :/ At reboot it will put it back you can't set up a raid 1 or raid anything because the raid utility will not show up in the BIOS with the CSM enabled :/

Solution

Try that Gigabyte App, its supposed to make it pain free.

I got rid of my Gigabyte board because of things like this, only 2 weeks old, it was doing my head in, got an MSI instead, way better.

yup, fun isnt it, not...............are you trying for UEFI RAID or Legacy RAID ?

first set your sata controller to RAID mode, now reboot back to the bios

If you are going for UEFI, disable CSM support, you should then see a load of options disappear, and change the OS to Windows 10 WHQL, now reboot back to the bios, in the peripherals menu you should now see RAIDXpert2 Config Utility, set your raid up in there.

Actually, I don’t care I just want a raid 1 so I don’t lose all my stuff :/ I guess it’s too much to ask I just want a Bios that works with all its functions in tack so I can do what I need to do I mean its not like you pay for the mother board or anything right they give them out for free right? :/ ???

Legacy mode is easier to setup, change your SATA controller to RAID mode, its probably on ACHI at the moment, leave all that disable csm crap alone, leave it enabled, leave the OS as other OS, now reboot, as soon as it gets past the main bios screen, pres ctrl + R continuously, it will enter a RAID bios where you set your RAID up.

Yes thats right, I thought you were using the RAID as the boot drive, sorry, if your not, why not just set up software RAID in Windows, way easier ?

LOL sod's law, back to the bios to set it up then.

Or hang on, you can try this: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350M-MORTAR.html#down-utility&Win10 64
I know its for MSI but it may work on any B350m Motherboard, you want smart tool.

I really wanted a RAID so what ever I put on it ...it would automatically back up to another drive so I didn't have to wander what was backed up an what wasn't I guess the have "difference backups" that do that I just wanted a RAID ....that's all I wanted in life...just one RAID 1 ...that I could trust with all my stuff... I'm crying now
