I have purchased a new motherboard which is MSI B350 Tomahawk with Ryzen 1700
I am using the processor at stock speed but I get BSOD evrytime...After 2 min of logging to windows..There seems to be no fix..I have fully formatted the whole drive..Reinstalled windows..Purchased a new 1tb WD Blue and installed Windows on that too but again a BSOD..Sometimes even on the installation screen...

Seems my RAM is not supported or compatible with the motherboard or is it something else..
System specs are below Pls help! I have tried evrything..And I am feeling helpless here..

CPU - AMD RYZEN 1700
Memory - Corsair's CMK8GX4M1A2400C16R 8*2
PSU - Corsair's Rm650x
OS - Windows 10 x64
GPU - Sapphire Nitro RX 480 8GB

Do I need to purchase a new ram? Or can I somehow make it working through the bios to get a stable..I don't mind even 2133mhz..Pls help..
Also I have tested 2 GPUs in my system with the same BSOD error...Tried 2 PSU too..
Tried updating the bios too...
Previously at bios 1.2 it was not even giving display on this ram..But on 1.3 it is giving display at least but with BSOD as soon as I get to windows even on safe mode..Hence I can't even try installing drivers...

Pls give me settings to go with safely and get it stable..

Thanks in advance!

What is the ver number printed on the modules labels?

If it is something like 5.39, then the modules might be using higher density memory chips which the system doesn't seem to recognize.

Also, it seems you are using two individual 8 GB modules not from a dual channel kit. That can cause issues due to inter-module incompatibility, even for same model of module.

That is unusual! Corsair memory labels almost always have a "ver" number printed on them.

Anyway. Clear CMOS.

1) Try ONE 8 GB module. If system boots and runs OK, then shut down and install second 8 GB module.

2) If system doesn't boot/run with just ONE 8 GB module installed, then raise DRAM Voltage in BIOS by 0.05 V. Don't exceed 1.35 V. Save settings and reboot.

3) If system doesn't boot/run with just ONE 8 GB module installed AND the DRAM Voltage is already set at 1.35 V, try the other 8 GB instead.

4) If system still doesn't boot/run with just the other 8 GB module installed AND the DRAM Voltage is up to 1.35 V, then either both modules are incompatible, or they may be faulty, or the memory slots may be faulty.

5) If system doesn't boot/run with either or both 8 GB modules installed AND the DRAM Voltage is set at 1.35 V, then if possible test the modules in another computer, or try some other known compatible memory instead to see if the memory slots are working.

I have tried both the memory sticks individually too..But with same result..BSOD in Windows..And also I tried raising voltage..But that didn't help too..Should I go with Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 16*1? Or should I just switch to Asus prime b350 plus..Cause I have been trying to fix it for the last 10 days with no fix whatsoever..I am sure it's the memory incompatibility

OK. Corsair memory part number CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 (2 x 8 GB; dual channel kit) is listed as being compatible according to the QVL here, so this kit should work.

So it appears that the existing Corsair memory (two 8 GB modules part number CMK8GX4M1A2400C16R) may be incompatible.

I have an MSI Tomahawk B350, it's an Arctic version though. I think it's the same.

Anyway, I went to Memory compatibility list for both Tomahawk motherboards and that memory isn't there. I have Corsair's CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 (3000Mhz), and this memory isn't there either You're right, the memory isn't compatible and I'm about to return and get the 3200Mhz version as well.

But if it'll make you feel better I've seen a review for CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 (Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200Mhz 2*8GB) stating that it works with their MoBo(MSI Tomahawk b350).

https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R28Y5CQP487U2T/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0143UM4TC

Hope to see if you can get the same results!

My current setup:
CPU - AMD RYZEN 1600
Memory - Corsair's CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 (2*8GB)
PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA 550
OS - Windows 7 x64
GPU - EVGA GeForce 750Ti 2GB

When I start CPU-Z i would see the ram at 1033, and with XMP Profile 1(2133) it would read 1333. With XMP 2(2993) my PC wouldn't start. I even tried the "Memory try it!" but it would still read 1033 or 1333. The first time i noticed this it occurred to me to check the RAM compatibility list for the MoBo... :pfff:

It's funny though if you go to Corsairs official site - specifically http://www.corsair.com/en-us/landing/ryzen - and look for CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 or CMK8GX4M1A2400C16R you'll find both of them there, yet these aren't compatible with these MoBos. Idk maybe MSI will update the BIOS to change that.

I forgot to mention I updated the BIOS and still didn't work.

I'm getting the ram tomorrow btw I'll post an update when I have it. :)

I will have it in 3 days and I hope it works..Also..I have updated to the latest bios of 1.3 as well..
The biggest problem.is ....On the corsair's website u won't find the b350 tomahawk listed there in the motherboards area to check which ram is compatible....It will only show the ryzen supported.rams...Not the tomahawk supported..

Update once u check with the new ram..thanks

Just installed it 3 hours ago, no BSoD. And the speed is actually 3200Mhz. I turned A-XMP to Profile 2 (3200MHz). i didn't do anything else, besides turn on GAME BOOST. MSI Command Center reads 3200Mhz.

Ok MSI told me that any RAM whoes configuration is equal or less than 16-16-16-36 will work with Ryzen
And mine Corsair was 16-16-16-39
That's why it was crashing

Now I have got HyperX Fury with 15-15-15-35 and it is working fine no issues
