so i was looking to upgrade my laptop (which is pretty much on its last legs and is very slow, especially since i like gaming this is not a very good rig to use. i stumbled across this computer on ebay (link at the bottom of thread) i looked at the graphics card and knew that 1050Ti's are very good, but for the price that it is there seems to be a huge catch, because i don't have much money to play around with at this moment in time i searched up cheap gaming computers and this popped up so i clicked on it, saw the price and i started to be very suspicious and curious to whether there is a catch or not, any replies would be greatly appreciated.

OK, it's £81 at the moment, but that's just the highest bid, it's got 8 days left to run.
It's socket 771, so from the era of core 2 duo, core 2 quad, so not great by todays standards, nowhere to upgrade to.
memory OK
why he's put a 1050ti in it I've no idea.
PSU is rubbish
4 year warranty, woop-de-do, he's got 40 reviews, he'll not be in business in 6 months, it'll be worthless. no feedback in the last month, 2 in the last 6 months and 6 in the last 12 months, how exactly is he supporting a 7 day a week helpline?
He's called it a pheonix Gamma X... nuff said

So it's got an old weak CPU, a very poor PSU, and a decent GPU, and probably an oldish HDD 1TB is not that common any more.

Realistically, I don't know how you can ever quantify it as "new".
*That Xeon E5450 is near 10 years old - and not the best for gaming. The motherboard and RAM are likely used too.
*A "Pulse" PSU is total junk..... I'll just quote & link the tier list.
Avoid IMMEDIATELY. These units are highly unsafe to use. No such protections added, very thin gauge wiring used, false advertising and too much to list. Reference to a higher tiered unit for a better, money saving and a much safer unit. For your safety's sake, please don't order or pick one up for use in your system. These units are a potential fire hazard and could even kill you, let alone your system

Interesting that it notes a warranty - appears to be a private seller, I wonder if the warranty by "Phoenix Tech" is transferrable to a new owner?

For the price though (ie if you can get that for under 150GBP,), you can't really go wrong. I wouldn't use it "as is" necessarily, but the GPU alone goes for ~150GBP.

It's not worth more than the price of the GPU in my opinion, everything else is worthless.
