I have a Samsung 850 EVO 120GB SSD. I use it as my primary OS bootup drive. I also have a 1TB Seagate Barrucuda for programs and apps. For some reason my SSD keeps taking up space even tho I am not installing or saving anything to it. I've gone into the C Drive and checked how much all the contents add up to in size, and it comes to about 68.9GB out of 111GB. So there should be still about 40 GB of free space but it's been used up by something somehow to the point where it is now at 7GB. I have tried using disk cleanup tool but it only cleared a couple MB of data. I have run a virus scan just in case but doing nothing on either one of the drives except for tracking cookies. I have also checked to see if It was the restore point taking up the space but it is turned off on both drives and has 0 bytes used for both of them. Can anyone help. I am running Windows 10. I don't mind reinstalling Windows but I would like to avoid doing so if I can.
The way I know it is loosing space if because if I open the C Drive properties tab and click on the desktop and then back on the C Drive properties tab. I can see the available free space going down. Maybe a few hundred megabytes each time. The drive never fills up completely tho. It goes up and down without installing or deleting anything. Anyone got any ideas as to what it might be?
