Would a GTX 1050ti be a good upgrade with my FX 6300 and will it be compatable with my motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. M5A78L-M/USB3 (AM3R2). My current GPU is a Radeon 7700, would this be a solid upgrade for me for gaming? Also could I go any higher on the GPU(like maybe a 1060) than that even with out an OC on my cpu?

Hello!

My suggestion to you would be to upgrade your GPU to a gtx 1050ti and from there save up to get a new Ryzen processor, as that can provide A LOT of performance benefits in the now, and the long run. If you plan to stick with that CPU for a little while though, a gtx 1060 will not be bottle necked, and you will be able to utilize it to its maximum capabilities.

Hope this was of some help!

Thank you for the reply! So the gtx 1050ti will work with my motherboard ok? Also if I were to upgrade to the Ryzen processor would I need to buy a new motherboard as well, or would it just fit in to my existing slot for it? (Am3 I'm pretty sure)

am3 is dead

ryzen is am4

the gtx 1050 ti is about max your current cpu can handle with that crappy mobo that doesnt allow overclocking

make sure your power supply has a 6-pin if you want one of the fancier models as they require one
