I've been playing on this same computer for quite sometime now, and it's starting to show it's age. I am going to upgrade to the Ryzen 1800X in the next couple of months, but first I have to get a job 
In the meantime, I want to upgrade my current 8 year old system with a new GPU. If you have any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated!

M4A79XTD EVO
AMD Phenom II x6 1090T Processor ~3.2Ghz
8Gb of RAM
AMD Radeon 5700 Series GPU
I found that the AMD 7950 was a good card for this set-up (from a 2013 thread) and wanted to confirm if this was still valid advice. I know these are old parts, but I plan on passing this computer down to my kiddos for gaming (minecraft, overwatch, terraria)
