Hello. I'm trying to see if I have any chances of salvaging my PC (Dell XPS 8300) that's now running into challenges playing some newer games I've downloaded (Playerunkown's Battlegrounds). It appears to be GPU performance based, but I'm not totally sure. Based on what I've seen out there regarding CPU (i7 2600 3.4ghz) it doesn't seem to be bottlenecking there. That said, I was curious to see if you all could possibly give me some real options on what I could do here with the 8300. I was thinking GPU and RAM upgrades, but I'll see what you all come back with. I've pasted the specs on it below. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I would be wary of using a GTX 1070 on a standard Dell prebuilt's PSU which doesn't meet the recommended minimum PSU requirement of 500W. (Having had a PSU in a prebuilt blow up before I'm always wary...) High quality PSUs might be able to sustain the power requirement even if its wattage is lesser; I'd be less trusting of this PSU.

Also depending on the resolution you're gaming at a GTX 1060 may be an option too.

Dell powersupplies are made by DELTA and they are very good power supplies.

Dell is not ANY pre built. Dell is the best in the market.

his power is enough for the task.

WIth your current PSU, an Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb super clocked from EVGA will be sufficient. It only requires 1 6-pin connector and will be able to play most if not all games at 1080p 60fps. The current price is $259.99. If you don't have that much money a GTX 1050 or GTX 1050ti will also be sufficient for 1080p gaming. Hope this helped.

I believe I mitigated my response with the 'quality PSU' line. If it is verified the PSU in the particular PC is of such quality, then that's good, though I saw no mention in the above specs. (There is the point about a brand/label/company and consistency of quality across their products, of course.) It was a general warning which one can of course ignore.

Thanks for the feedback...Question for you, according to http:// the XPS takes DDR3 PC3-12800 RAM, and it's expandable to 16gigs. That said, I plan on getting 16 gigs of new ram, my question is, can I get two 8's or should I be getting 4, 4s? I was thinking that I'd get http://

Thoughts? Other options?
