Modern SSD are seq . Read/Write >500MB , and IOPS Read/Write >80,000

your SSD is

seq read 500MB/s , seq Write 260MB/s
IOPS read 45,000 IOPS write 50,000

and this is paper specs , it gets lower in real testing.

one more thing , did you connect it to SATA3 or SATA 2 ? because the seq Read speed looks fishy

Im using SATA 3 Cable but its connected to a SATA 2 Port because my mobo only supports SATA 2
how much of a difference would it be?

SATA2 Max speed = 300MB/s , Sata3=600MB/s

That explains why the read speed is not 500 ...

ohhh... now i feel stupid so the 3 GBPS of sata actually translates to 300 MBPS and the SATA 3 6 GBPS to 600 mbps?

benchmarking aside. for real time use would it really make a big difference?

for accessing Random small files (IOPS) it will be slower , but is still faster than HD dont worry much.

next time when you buy look at the IOPS speed it is very very important.

we use IOPS more than Sequential when we run games and programs ... sequential is for big files only

enjoy your SSD and dont worry much

your SSD will work on SATA2 it is backward compatible . but will run slower (Read speed)

If you want Sata3 , you can buy a Sata 3 card and use it , or get a used motherboard with Sata3 on it ...

but its not a big deal your PC is very old and not worth spending on it much , keep the money for the next new PC better.
