I'm having to write this again because it got removed for some reason so this may be a bit rushed.
Anyway, I was using my laptop, plugged in, when this happened. A wifi adapter I had plugged in stopped working. I was using it because my internal wifi card had died. I thought the adapter had stopped working because of old age. No big issue.
This morning, I plugged in my Xbox 360 adapter into the laptop, and it didn't work either.
I tried both on multiple ports on both the laptop and my PC. None worked. I have a refurbished Lenovo x201 laptop running Ubuntu 16.04.
Could it be the power adapter? I can see it's running it at the correct 20v 4.5 amps?

EDIT: It was my mistake. The xbox 360 adapter died for some reason, but it wasn't caused by the laptop, and for the Wifi adapter, I looked and found that I had just flicked a switch which disabled it.
