Now i would like to know how to replace my stock cooler with a noctua fan (other posts said the fan is really good). Now you will think "getanewcpucooler!!", but no. Plain no. Why? Its an i3 6100. So, any ideas?

Solution
The DeepCool Gammaxx 300 should probably do the trick for you.
Not very expensive, and is reported to be nice and quiet. A good deal so over the stock cooler.

I believe the fan is molded into the bracket on the stock intel cooler. So you will not be able to just replace the fan.

I might be wrong about the above, it would help if you could post a picture for us to look at.

Well any radiator style cooler will do. The loudness is largely dependent on the fan installed. In this particular case, I would go with one of the two most commonly recommended ones, either the 212 evo or Cryorig H7 and simply replace the stock fan with one that is quieter.

What case do you have it in? Thats a bit factor in what cooler you can put it in.

Just make sure whichever one you pick will fit and has proper RAM clearance for your application. As far as those two suggestions being overkill, yeah, they are. But they're also some of the cheaper options for CPU coolers as well.

Well if you just want something quieter, look at the Cryorig M9i. It won't overlap your RAM so no issues there and it's not very big, and is on par with the Cooler Master Hyper Evo while costing less. A bigger cooler, which will give you a more quiet fan (tho extreme overkill for your CPU) would be a Cryorig H7. It's smaller than the Cooler Master Hyper Evo, cools better, and runs silent. It also does not interfere with the RAM.

I run the Gammaxx 400 in my rig and an very happy with the noise level.

Granted, it is in a fractal define R5, which is a quieter than normal case.
