Hello!

I have been thinking for a long time to get a htpc, as atm i have my normal desktop connected to my tv and its annoying that everytime i turn on the tv or my audio/bluray system the screens have to adjust and turn black for some time and same for always picking audio source as it goes with hdmi. and i already have 4 screens + tv connected to my desktop.

So it would be much better with a own pc for the tv and it has to be small.

I recently found this https://techinstyle.asus.com/meet-asus-vivopc-x/

As it is really small and has enough power for normal tasks and even gaming if so needed, not that i think i will game much on it but always nice to have.

I can get this for 1000€ as is pretty decent for such a small pc as most htcp boxes are bigger and i need a really small one.

I know i can build a system cheaper as i have done many builds but i dont like most the cases and they are too big. but if someone would want to put together good htpc for watching movies and streaming movies too etc it would be nice.

Solution
just swap in a i5 7500 and lower ur ram to 1x8 gig just in case if u wanna upgrade later. i think we r fixed on the 1060.
but my choice would be to wait for the a320 mobo n get the ryzen 1600. its in the same price point as the 7500.
the pentium g4560 would not do the job in rainbow six siege. just in case u r wondering.

Looks nice but the i7- is overkill pretty much and this build would cost me 1150 not that its that much more and money is not a problem.

And can you fit a aio liquid cooler in there?

u really dont need a liquid cooler. this is a non k version of the 7700k. so less heat produced. n i really dunno abt liquid cooler compatibility in HTPC. but this would be a good replacement for the stock cooler https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Lbhj4D/cryorig-cpu-cooler-c7 .
and yes, this is a solid build for 1080p gaming n multitasking. if u can wait a bit longer, i would recommend the ryzen 1600 with the small formfactor a320 mobo.
also, if ur tv is a big screen 2k one, this gpu would suit u more https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nQPzK8/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1070-8gb-mini-itx-oc-video-card-gv-n1070ixoc-8gd

My tv atm is a 50" plasma and i will change to a oled 55" + later this year when i change job.

I have not really played on the tv only on my ps4 and xbox.

i only need the htpc to watc movies and streams and download movies etc, a dvd station i dont need as a i have a bluray player and a 1060 will be enough as i dont plan to really game on the tv as i have a desktop with a i7-600k and a gtx 1080 all info in my sig.

This will mostly be for movie watching etc but i i want i have the oppertuinity to game on it with a 1060. and i want it to be quiet.

Yea that cooler looks good and i already have some extra ssd's and over 5tb in external harddrives.

And as said a i5 will be enough for light gaming on medium-high settings with a gtx 1060 as its not even sure i will play on it.

As i already have a high end computer with a 1440p 144hz monitor. its just a backup if i ever feel to play something on it as i dont like to play on the tv, and it will be kinda like a lan rig or if i have friends over. but will most likley rarley be used for gaming.
