Hello everyone!

2 days ago I went to monitor my RAM cause I saw it was filling up a bunch of times. So when I started to monitor it, the first thing I saw was that when my windows booted up it used around 10% of my ram.

And the thing that used a lot of RAM was Antimalware Service Executable. (Yes this is a default app) I tested my pc in safe mode and I didn't see the same thing. What I still saw that the Antimalware service was running, but at a lower RAM usage ( Idling around 5% usage)

The odd part is it is only using about 127MB. Wich should not be 10 - 13%.

I would like to know how I could lesser my ram usage of windows. So it is around the 5% from the Safe Mode test.

So my pc specs are:
Windows 10 Home edition ( Build 14393 )
G.Skill RipjawsX F3-2400C11D (G skill, CL 11, 2400MHZ) 16gb
A I7 4770K running at 3.60GHZ
A MSI Gaming 5
A Gtx 960 MSI
A 650 Watt PSU

Thanks in advance.

Why would you want to lower your ram usage?
My bet would be installing Windows XP, you can get a completely clean system down to around 300 MB usage total in idle.
What you probably didn't even noticed: Windows is using "unused" RAM for caching ofeten used files. So your web browser, most used games and stuff start faster, because they are already preloaded.

The only time when you really should worrry about "freeing" RAM would be either when swapping starts or Windows complains about low free memorry.

I have updated the thread. Sorry for being unclear
