Windows 7 and also 10 randomly freezes at splash screen

Hello folks. I've had this problem for a long time now and I honestly do not know what to do anymore. So my Windows just randomly gets stuck at the splash screen. Just sometimes. Usually a reboot fixes it. Sometimes it needs 5. So I installed windows 10 trying to fix this but it continued. Just like in windows 7. Just freezes sometimes. Now after one year I decided I want to go back to windows 7 and it is there again. Everytime I did a clean windows install so there shouldnt be any old files messing with anything. Please I need help with this.

Windows 10 64-Bit/ Windows 7 64-Bit
Asus X99-S
Intel i7-5820k
Asus Strix GTX 980
Kingston hyper x Fury DDR4 16 gb @ 2100MHz
Kingston Hyper X Fury SSD 120gb
Samsung Evo 850 256 gb SSD I use this as my OS drive
And some old ass DVD Rom Player / station
Also 2 screens and some leds in the pc, but the problems started way before them

PSU is corsair cx600 I think. But doubt that its that. Checked my power consumption directly from the wall and it doesnt even go to 500W. The problem started to occur way before I even knew anything about overclocking so doubt its that either. Also just today updated BIOS and chipset and still nada. Will be giving the RAM and the drives a try like you said tho.

the wattage of the PSU is not the only thing that counts, if it's a bad or low quality PSU it will still be an issue.

CX is one of the lower models from Corsair, there is only one lower than that from them. If you are near 500 watt system usage, a 600 watt CX model is not very good to use. I'd get a 750 CXM or Seasonic S12II for a lower priced one.

Hmm. This could be the issue too. I was thinking about a new psu because I also noticed that I sometimes get Bluescreens while gaming with my overclocked GPU and CPU. I also have leds and every Sata cable from the psu is being used. Could a bad psu be the reason for bluescreens while playing?

Did you set things to stock speeds? You don't want to be troubleshooting when you have an overclocked system. A bad power supply can cause random crashes, including vidoe card crash which can cause a bluescreen. But then again so can an overclocked component.

I finally got the OS to stop freezing at startup. I completely reinstalled windows 10 back and now it works like a charm. Only problem now is that I can not clock my cpu as high as before. Before I could go 4.5 GHz easily with 50C while playing but now if I go even over 4.1 it just gives me instant bluescreen with message WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. (Or something like that) This was my question before that could a bad psu cause this?

That is much more likely an error from the CPU due to overclocking. Unless you want to pay for a replacement CPU soon, keep it at the speed it's stable at.

Alright. Thanks for your time. Just thought that its weird that It was stable with everything same before but now its not. Really would like to squeeze a bit more from the CPU like before.
