Windows Booting To Colorful Streaks Across Screen?

I recently updated to the creators update and installed the most recent graphics driver. However when i boot the system, i get a screen of colorful lines streaking up and down my monitor and then it goes black. Only until I hard reset the PC, will it boot properly.

The weird part is that when I uninstall all of the graphics drivers, it boots just fine everytime.

So is this a problem with my GPU or is it a problem with the GPU drivers in relation to the creators update?

I have an EVGA 980 TI and the driver version is 381.65.

Thank you.

Did you just install the graphics driver or did you use the Geforce experience? I have an EVGA 1080 and it works fine with both the creator's edition and the 381.65 drivers installed via the GeForce Experience app.

The problem starting happening just after I installed the Creators Update

Did you update your graphics drivers at or about the same time?

I would guess that one or the other did not install correctly. That would be the most logical conclusion. It is remotely possible that your video card saw the update coming and lept to it's death to avoid it, but that would be a heck of a coincidence.

What happens when you re-install the drivers?
(since this is the easiest to test).

Sorry I left this thread open for a while but I rolled back the driver from before the creators update and it seems to work fine no problem. Once the most recent one came out, I went ahead and installed it except after a few days, the problem persists. Thanks.

The answer would seem to be to run the older driver for now and file a bug report with NVidia.

But one last suggestion:
When you re-installed the newer drivers, did you check the box that says "do a clean install"? I run windows 10 Pro 64bit on a 980ti on the current drivers and do not have your problem.

Yes, I always tick clean install for all GPU driver installs.
