Which temps does System Fan read?

Hello, I have added a system fan that's exactly the same as CPU fan for my CPU cooler and I set them up in my BIOS to have the same minimum speed and same maximum speed. I can see that I have system temps and CPU temps. I have connected my CPU cooler to the CPU 4 pin slot and my other fan to the SYS_FAN 4 pin slot. I was wondering if both work the same. I mean, will both increase RPM depending on the temperature of the CPU or will the CPU FAN adjust depending on the temps of the CPU and the other fan will adjust depending on the temperatures of the case?

That depends on your MoBo and BIOS settings but by default, CPU_FAN header is adjusted by the CPU temp and SYS_FAN header is adjusted by the MoBo temp.

Check it out from BIOS and/or MoBo manual to be sure.

I am sorry, I forgot to mention which motherboard and brand. But it's okay, I went to MSI's forum and asked there. Maybe someone would know about it. Thanks.
