Hello all...

Been a while since I contributed to here or indeed since Ive had any major problems.....
...Until now lol.

This rig used to be a Watercooled VR machine  back in the day, with more memory & 2 x 980 ti's (hence the insane surface area of rads )
(My first custom watercooled build about 2 or so years ago)

Onto the issue & components......

Case - Phanteks Enthoo Primo
Pump - MCP655 Swiftech (on about 3/4 speed)
Rads - Phobya G-Changer 360, Phobya G-Changer 240, Phobya G-Changer 140
Fans - mmm About 12 x 140's (Arctics/Phanteks/Aero-Cool)
MOBO - ROG Maximus Ranger VII (3003 BIOS)
CPU - Intel Core i7-4790K @ Base clock 0.8 GHz, turbo 4.6 GHz Koolance 380i (Watercooled)
GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 TwinTurbo Alphacool NexXxoS GPX M11(Watercooled)
1181 Base/1800 Mem/1395 Boost <---- dont laugh
OS SSD - Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB (Windows 10 Pro 64)
HD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 3TB
HD - WD Red 2.5" 1TB
MEM - HyperX Fury DDR3 1866 C10 2x4GB @ DDR3 1333 MHz clocked @ 1866 MHz
PSU - Corsair RM1000 (1000W)
Sound - Optical Soundblaster Audigy 5/Rx

(other options tried include no sound card, onboard Realtek HD, Nvidia HDMI, but Im sure its not an Audio issue as such).

CPU Idle @ 26-32c Load @ Never seen it past 55c in gaming/benching
GPU Idle @ 24-30c Load @ Life's to short to wait for it to warm up...... 43c max :)

Rig has ran fine for months and months and months then a few weeks or so ago I started getting a stuttering/looping audio/mouse pointer hang/cpu spike or drop kinda thing...... lasting about half a second, multiple times in a row, then nothing for ages..... spin and repeat anywhere between 1 hour and 1 week apart.

So as I say its a while since I built this thing and just wanna poke your heads for some opinions......

I have so far tried.....

Default on everything from clocks to power profiles etc
Underclock
New power cable/seperate outlet
Triple checked all cables for fitting and shorting etc
Triple checked all cooling fittings for drips n leaks
Tried an old GTX 950 for a few days, same.
Tried different PCIe slot for GPU
Reseat GPU and Cooler
Reseat CPU and Cooler

So I now fear I must step into an area that I totally suck at.......

Voltage / Droop / LLC / VRM Switching / Spread Spectrum / Adaptive / Offsets / Power
etc etc etc

At load 1.181 v <-------- Is this too low for 4.6 ?
At idle 0.766 v <-------- I'm almost sure this is too low ?
Mem 1.50 v <--------- I'm tempted to bump this up a little, but I will wait.
PCIe running at x 16 3.0
GPU @ stock voltage

I'll be honest, Ive probably forgotten more about pc builds than I now know in total.
I'll mess with anything but power & voltage is one thing Im really not good with.

Theres probably loads of stuff I've left out so just shout at me and I will provide any details you folks may need ;)

Thanking any and you all in advance :ouimaitre:

Peace.

Sorry for the dreadful quality picture........

Occasionally on boot-up just after keyboard/mouse lights up/sound initialises........ when login screen should pop up......
System will hang like in picture (Has been left for over an hour at one point to check it was hard locked)

Ctrl+Alt+Del does nothing etc

Only option to reboot, and usually boots up fine afterwards.

Ok..........

Seems the hanging issue at boot-up is related to that crappy Ai Suite 3 thing. (I forgot it was even installed)
I can replicate hanging fairly consistently by uninstalling that crap, then reinstalling etc

So needless to say.... its gone.

I'm hoping Ai Suite was affecting some setting somewhere, and slowing down voltage application/control when load is put on CPU.
Thats all I can think of relating to stutter, mouse cursor hiccup etc

Wont know until the error appears again or not.

Would love some input from you guys out there who know a lot about this stuff ;)

Thanks again.

So thats a nasty blown fan header........ Confirmed header is blown and not working... other fan headers all working and functioning normally.

Before I get time to dismantle whole rig and check out further possible damage down back of Mobo, Is this enough to be giving me some crazy, irratic problems?

I'm currently posting from a fresh install of WIN10 on a spare HD
So far, problem has not really surfaced, I keep thinking I'm seeing it but then the UAC window pops up.

Still installing things to see if I can trip the issue.

Thanks

Will do, I'm keeping a copy of each icon in order of installation in a folder on desktop and i've got my notepad out lol ;)

Currently got.... (not including drivers on here post would be too long lol)

Java install
SoundBlaster software
CPUID
GPU-z
Geforce Experience (Including latest driver 381.65?)
MSI Afterburner
MSI Kombuster
Xbox Accessories (For Xbox Elite Wireless Controller)

Still going strong...... I really hope its a windows update error that's caused this.......
