I hate computers and I am a little salty about having to buy a new motherboard just for a new processor, but anyhoo... Thank you very much for coming to help, as I would be lost with out you guys.

My computer now : AMD FX-6300 processor, 8GB system memory, 1TB hard drive, geforce gtx 780, Gigabyte Ga-78LMT-USB3 (motherboard)

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-ultra-desktop-amd-fx-series-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-black-red/4280705.p?skuId=4280705 this is my case. and how my computer originally was until i started upgrading it.

I want to get at least a good i5. I cant run 7 days to die that well, so something is horribly wrong in where I want to be, which is being able to at least run 7 days good on medium to high and h1z1 or the playerunknown battleground game on medium. As well as battlefield 1. I would think the i5 would be good enough with my gtx 780 for that at least. I also dont know which i5 to get. Apparently there are freggin different ones...
I was thinking of getting these two items, but these are higher than what I would like to pay. Please keep in mind, I know nothing about the pins, plug ins, or anything. I fear getting this motherboard and something else will not fit or something.

This may be late but im gonna say it anyway.

I would really recommend ryzen. The am4 platform will be supported until 2020 and ryzen is really smooth in games rather than intel. Something like a ryzen 5 1600 would be more than enough for your gaming and its cheaper than an i5 7600k. Let me know your budget and ill try to put together a system for you. Ps. Also tell me what psu you have
