Starting with my specs:
Mobo: Asus Z97 Pro
CPU: Intel 4690K at 4.3GHz
Memory: 16GB DDR3 1866MHz from GSkill
PSU: Seasonic X650
GPU: Zotac GTX 1070
1 480GB SSD, 2 7200 RPM HDDs

I've been trying to track down the cause of my coil whine for a while. Putting my ear up to my computer, the buzz is most audible with my ear to the back of my power supply, so that has been my impression this whole time. I read somewhere that doing a stress test on the PSU can in rare cases completely remove coil whine, so I started a program in Linux called "Stress" and had it max my CPU at 100%. Lo and behold, my CPU at 100% completely eradicates the coil whine for the first minute I run the program, until it comes back. Even then, it comes and goes for moments at a time. I've had this computer for 2 years now, and in the beginning it resembled some coil whine during my "break in" period, and then it went away, but now these last few months it has come back in an extreme rage and I can't find a pattern to why it does it. Should I just RMA it as it's still under warranty, or are there maybe some things I can do so I can avoid the downtime and shipping costs?

Additional note: This happens in both Windows and Linux on this machine

EDIT: I just found out that scrolling my mouse wheel (during the stress test) will get rid of the coil whine, but only during the stress test. My mouse is a Logitech G502 Proteous Core, as I have been doing this, it appears even that it may just be any I/O from keyboard or mouse

Solved the issue. I took a harder look at my power supply and realized I had WAY too many cables hanging out on a single rail, and I think that big load not being distributed well enough caused the whine. So, solved!
