I have a system that needs a lot of upgrades and im not sure where to start first.
my current parts are as follows:
i5 4430 cpu 3.00ghz
gtx 760 gpu
12 gb ram
stock motherboard
60 hz standard 3ms monitor
corsair k70 gaming keyboard
finalmouse 2016 mouse

i am a gamer who doesnt care about the image quality as i play on lowest settings in all games for performance, and will still wish to do so when i have a beast pc built. in cs:go i manage over 200 fps and overwatch i manage around 100. Playerunknowns battlegrounds im getting close to 60 fps on my current setup. I was thinking of buying a 144hz 1ms monitor but seeing as my current game (battlegrounds) isnt pushing near that in fps would it be more worth it to get a different part first? i want to push as high of frames as possible on the lowest settings, not planning on running 4k or anything like that. The parts i want to buy for a new pc build are as follows:
Masterbox 5 mid tower
ASUS ROG maximus IX hero motherboard
g/skill ripjaws V series 16gb ram
samsung electronics 850 pro 128gb ssd
gtx 1070 gpu
i7-7700k cpu
evga supernova 1000w psu.
was looking at a few monitors but really i just want a 144hz 1ms response, dont care about freesync or gysnc.

Since my current setup is pretty low end, should i not even try and upgrade anything and just build as i can buy the parts for a second pc? i know i could really only upgrade the monitor or gpu since my motherboard isnt an 1151 slot its an 1150 slot, and upgrading to a gtx 1070 seems a bit useless on my current rig since my cpu is so weak. Is it worth it to buy the monitor first do you think?

I would upgrade your current rig, it will be cheaper

- upgrade cpu to i7-4770 or 4790, keep your existing motherboard
- buy an SSD
- buy the gtx 1070

That's it :) You should be able to use your existing power supply, as the 1070 uses less power than the 760

Edit: it should also be noted that the i5-4430 would work just fine with the gtx 1070 without much bottleneck

yeah well for that id be forced to upgrade my motherboard at the very least as well, since it doesnt have an 1151 slot that the 1070 requires
