Hi everyone! I came to this forum 6 years ago to ask the community for help to build a pc, and received great advice! I once again seek advice, but this time to upgrade it.
This is what I currently have:
CPU: i7 2600k (o/c @ 4.4ghz)
RAM: 8.00GB DDR3 @ 799MHz
Mobo: ASUS P8P67 PRO
GPU: ATI radeon HD 6950 2g
700w power supply
I do not have a SSD, just a basic 1 tb hdd, but it's more then enough room for me.
This computers only purpose is gaming. I would like to increase my FPS in games. I don't really want an SSD as from what I read, would only reduce loading time, and I'm not too worried about that.
I'm a big noob when it comes to hardware, I did about 2-3 hours of research before posting this, but when I read about hardware details, it's like I'm reading chinese :/ So any advice is welcome.
I beleive it's time for me to upgrade my GPU. I am thinking of getting a GTX 1070. Would it be compatible with what I have? Is my cpu and ram fine enough for these days or should I be looking into upgrading those too?
I have about 600$ budget, but could put more if needed, altho at that point I might be looking into building a completely new one. The website I would like to buy from is newegg.ca (ca because canadian)
Thanks for the replies!
