hello there, i wanted to buy a GTX 1080 ti, today i called a store and asked for the founders edition which is at 849 euros here, but the guy told me that the 1080 armor was better and had a better cooling system and its also cheaper.
I also saw some videos that GTX 1080 armor could get some high temperatures? so im kinda worried about that, but it as a better performance over the founders edition which is also my concern.

Which one should I buy? I really wanted to make the right purchase, and also if it matters, the purpose of having that card is for VR.

I also noticed that the Armor edition as 2 - 8 pin connectors, do i have to plug them all on the PSU? if so, could someone recommend me a PSU with those connectors please?

Thanks in advance.

The GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition, like every other Founders Edition that NVidia releases, suffers from a classic problem: Overheating. That's because they use a Blower-Style cooler, that just blows air from one back-side fan through the heat fins inside and out the other way. It's effective, but not for an OC card. It's more than likely true that the ARMOR edition runs cooler and is cheaper, because NVidia lets the manufacturers set the price on their cards, around the initial MSRP, and most manufacturers hype the price on the FE's more than a normal card. The price of the card doesn't always preface the quality, initially. The ARMOR OC should be just as good as the other.

I also noticed that the ARMOR as a 2x8 pin power connector, could you recommend me a PSU with that connection?
or can i just buy an extension for a PSU, kinda like this? https://cdn-reichelt.de/bilder/web/xxl_ws/E910/DELOCK_83433_01.png

It's a refurb, yes, but the price, connectors and modular connections makes it well worth it. As well, it can be returned if broken. And, with those power extensions, they often times don't work well, or at all.
