I want a very clicky switch that is also good for gaming. I have seen that Cherry MX blue is very clicky, but not great for gaming. Is there a switch that is clicky and good for gaming. Red?

Solution
the switches most recommended for gaming generally are not "clicky".

first you need to understand the differences and why the key types act how they do.

blue - has key letoff, has tactile feedback, has audible feedback
brown - has tactile feedback, not sure if it has key letoff or not
red/black - linear, none of above

key letoff is the feeling of a sudden loss of resistance when pushing down a key which then results in bottoming out.

tactile feedback is a bump you feel when pressing down a key

audible feedback is the click you hear

all of these generally positively affect typing speed and accuracy, but due to the design of keys might not be good for double-pressing in games.

so called gaming switches (black/red) are completely linear. think of them on keys sitting on springs. you push them down, they push back up. nothing special. while this allows for fast double-taps it also is not ideal to type on at all.

i have used blues to game on myself and double-taps are not ideal as due to the mechanism they will sort of jam-up and not always activate if you try to quickly press the same key.

browns may be more ideal for you. they however do not 'click"

there are certainly other switches out there like topre, etc but i'm not well versed in how they compare.

Brown is the best general key type for gaming, they are not loud but do have some feedback noise, just don't go CLACK CLACK CLACK like the blues and especially the copies of blues. Red is not as good as Brown for gaming but would be louder.

Do you want performance of the keyboard for what you do with it, or the appearance and sound? Basically you are picking it not for how good it is for the use but for the looks. Wanting a certain sound is same as wanting a certain look.

Dont know what you mean by red is not as good as brown...
Brown has tactile feeback, which for FPS games is definatly worse than linear switches...
Brown perhaps would be the best general keyboard to get for general use.
If you play FPS or RPG games for example, I find the red switches to be way better, and personally I don't need the feedback the brown switches provide... In every cs go forum the answer will be "go for red switches".

There is a clicky switch by kaihl called kaihl speed bronze. Virtually impossible to find on a board so I would buy a hot swappable board such as the glorious modular mechanical keyboard or the team wolf zhuque and then buy the switches separately. They have a nice click bar system and actuate at 1.1 mm so key presses are registered faster, a similar concept to the mx speed which is not a clicky switch.
