Hi,
I've been looking to improve upon my current PC for a long time but since I have minimal knowledge when it comes to PC's Id really appreciate the Help!
Both the CPU and the Motherboard are pretty old so I'm looking to replace them but I'm unsure what to go for given that I've already got a GPU, tower and decent power supply ( 750W ). So any help & tipps would be greatly appreciated!

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: within the next 2-3 weeks

Budget Range: 250-350 However Ill happily pay more if it makes sense/ is needed!

System Usage from Most to Least Important: almost exclusively used for gaming and generic surfing of the web

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: CPU and Motherboard (Current power supply: Seasonic S12G-750)

Do you need to buy OS: Currently running windows 7 Home premium 64x and would love to avoid buying a new OS.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: none really, I have no experience when it comes to ordering/buying parts.

Location: Currently Berlin, Germany

Parts Preferences: similar to website, None really due to having limited to no experience

Overclocking: Probably not

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Having trouble running most games at decent FPS and graphics.

Current GPU: Radeon r9 280x

Be aware that both options will require DDR4 RAM. I think the Intel option would be overall better for gaming, but Ryzen isn't a bad choice.

EDIT: Didn't see your location. I'm not sure what pricing is like in Germany, and I don't think there are too many Germans on this board to speak up about it.

Having so little experience/knowledge Im assuming once I get the parts it'd be best to get them installed in a workshop as opposed to at home?

And since I already have an AMD Graphics card, would you say the AMD CPU would be more suited?
