PC Upgrade CPU/GPU?

Hi, having a bit of bother of what I should upgrade next. Here are my current specs:

i5 2500k 4.5Ghz
Cooler Master Siedon 120V
Z77 Extreme 4 AsRock
8GB 2000 DDR3
600W PSU
MSI GAMING X RX 470 4GB
250GB 2TB HDD


To do me another couple of years max, should I upgrade to a 2600k?

I was thinking of moving to:

I5 6500
8GB DDR4 2133
Asus Strix B250F


Or upgrade RX 470>1070
but I'm not sure if it's a side grade or upgrade. My machine is a gaming machine and have no idea what to do.

I have a 1080p monitor if that helps.

Any advice/recommendations will be very appreciative. Lurked for years but first post!

I would try 2500k+1070, you can always upgrade cpu/mobo later

PS: try it a few quick days of gaming if happy enjoy if not (see issues) return card blame incompatibility due to older pc, and get the 7500 package with 470... but I think it will work nicely for you.
