Removing the pesky DVI port from GTX 1080 Ti

Hello all,

I just pre-ordered the EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Ed. I am going to install a water block on it for watercooling as well. I really like the aesthetic of the EKWB GTX 1080 Ti water block, but so far they have only released one for the founders edition card, which does not accommodate the extra DVI slot that EVGA decided to add. I'm sure they will release another water block for the SC version of the GPU but I really like the idea of having a single slot GPU, just looks cleaner. How difficult/risky would it be for me to try and de-solder and remove the DVI port, so I can use the current EK water block and go single slot?

Thanks!

Here is a pic of the EKWB i want to use:

Yeah, I'd knew it'd void the warranty lol. I guess I was just trying to see if anyone here has any experience with something like this. I guess I could cancel my pre order and just buy a Founders Edition card, I'd feel a bit defeated though. For the same amount of money I get better performance and base clock than the founders edition.

I'm actually trying to do the same thing right now on the Asus Strix 1080ti. The DVI port is causing some clearance issues with the setup that I'm going with. It looks like your link is not working, any way you could re-share your images on doing this? Or any other tips?
Thanks!
