im receiving my 7700k in the mail tomorrow, and i have a hyper 212 evo heatsink, but the fan is kinda of busted, sometimes it makes a really annoying sound (not the fan blowing but a different noise)

can you recommend me a fan to replace it with, or do you think i should get a newer updated heatsink system?

this is a heatsink i was looking at, and i saw others recommend, would you also recommend this or another one?

or do you think i should just get a new fan for my current hyper 212 evo?

please and thanks

If you could replace the 212EVO fan for a few dollars, it would be worthwhile - but I imagine you'd be looking at a minimum $15 or so to replace it.

Given that, and the fact the H7 is a better performer - I'd just replace it.

The H7 is a solid option - but your needs will dictate the cooler required. Do you want to simply have a "stock" type cooler for stock speeds? Or OC?
If OCing, do you want a slight OC, or do you want to push it to it's limits?

neither an H7 or 212EVO are likely going to allow you to pus hthe highest OC (and your motherboard could be a factor too). For that, you'd need to look to high-end air cooling (like a Noctua NH-D15 for example) or to a quality AIO liquid cooler (eg. Corsair H110i v2)

Thanks Im upgrading from an i5 760 that I never oced so if I plan to it would only be a slight or med Oc for the i7 7700k

So based on that what you recommend?

I defiantly won't do water cooling since I don't like the Risk of it no matter how small it is, plus its too much money for me

So what the best air cooler for around $30 to $49 or so maybe a bit higher?

Yes H5 is better, but compatibility wise, i'd still go for H7. Because the H5 fans use a Slim type fan. So if the fan dies or had some issues. It's hard to find a slim type fan for replacement.
