your motherboard is a 100 series and you either require an update to the bios of this motherboard .. or return the motherboard and get a z270 series .

edit : you will not be able to update the bios without access to a skylake cpu (6th gen) your current cpu is compatible with the motherboard but will require a bios update . you could take it to a local store to have it update for a fee.. or borrow a skylake processor or buy a cheap skylake cpu to use for the bios update .
  4. also which version of the msi z170a do you own ? is it for example msi z170a pro ?

i checked to see if there was a way to flash the bios of your motherboard without a skylake cpu and unfortunately there is not .

if you take it to a store .. you will need to tell them you require the bios to be updated to version 1.6 to be compatible with your kabylake cpu .

    https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z170A-GAMING-PRO-CARBON.html#down-bios

i am not sure how much they will charge for this .

the other option is to buy or borrow a skylake cpu and update the bios yourself .
