I recently bought a MSI B350 Tomahawk board and a Ryzen 5 1600. The processor, ram (16 gigs of Vengeance LPX 2400), and power connections were all connected properly, but the system refused to post. This is my first build, and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! (The cpu led also is lit, saying the board does not detect the cpu, or it is faulty) Also, I had the cpu tested, and I know it works.

This might sound basic, but make sure you're plugged into the right display output. Also try only booting with only 1 or 2 or 3 sticks of RAM (if you have 4), I've seen people that take out a RAM stick and it gets it working and then they can use the stick after that fine. If the board does not detect the CPU, you might have gotten a faulty board and need to RMA if worse comes to worse, but see if you can fix it first. I also heard you can use a USB to update the bios, so I'd try that too.
