Ryzen 1600x showing 2 cores 4 logical processors

I have found the reason it's because i set the processor to 4 in msconfig so if you set it to 4 then the ryzan will only use 4 cores so easy fix had it set when i owned a intel cpu

Is your bios up to date? If not, your CPU may not be supported and an update may be required for proper functionality. Otherwise, check settings and the bios to see if something weird happened and cores were disabled.

Check the BIOS as previously suggested.

However, you shouldn't have to do that. Did you install a clean installation of Windows or did you "recycle" a previous installation? Are you sure you didn't bend any CPU pins when you installed the CPU into the AM4 socket?

What make/model motherboard are you using?

I am having the same issue, can you tell me how to change the settings that you used to re-enable your cores. Or if there is a youtube video that explains it. As far as I know msconfig is a text file that gives the processor it's instructions correct? If that's so where do I find it and what do I change within it?

Go to your start menu, find "Run", type "Msconfig" with no quotes, go to the "boot" tab, click advanced options, click "number of processors" and select the maximum number in the list.
