so I got a inspiron 3650 i5 "gamer edition" but I'm upgrading the graphics card and also want to get a better case. so I was wondering if I can put all the hardware in my current stack case into a new case and if all my data/ software will be like I left it?

Solution
A lot of brand-name desktops use custom interface panels, so I would first check to see what your computer has.

Another concern is that these same brand-name desktops are based on once-fancy BTX standard, and there are virtually no BTX-compatible cases. Open your computer, and see whether the desktop has "standard" (micro)ATX layout. Looking at the board, with interface panel on the left, CPU should be on the top, and expansion slots on the bottom.

I think this thread will help you: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3174298/dell-inspiron-3650-case.html
[strike]It sounds like that board uses a standard mATX mobo with a standard ATX PSU connector. If those two things check out then you should be fine to pop it in any ATX or mATX case. [/strike]

**UPDATE** - Actually - I didn't follow the thread far enough. I think it actually confirms the opposite... you can't move that mobo. Read the thread though, it should address your question.
