As per thread title im currently using a Asrock Fatality z87 killer motherboard running the i7 4771 processor.

I'm considering getting a 2nd hand i7 4790k but read that I should/need to upgrade my bios if i were to use the 4790k.

Question is .. must I do that? what would happen if i dont do that

If the answer is , Yes i Must, how do i do that? or whats the best practice / safest way to not break it up.

Solution
I flashed my motherboard to the latest BIOS from the ASRock website while I was using the old processor; it's not that difficult to do. Each manufacturer has their own special way to update the BIOS.
