I just built a pc with an amd a8 7650k and a gtx 1050 ti with 4gb vram and 16gb of ram and I think It hasn't been performing it's best because of a bottleneck, I went on a website called the.bottlenecker.com and it told me I should upgrade to an AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core could somebody please tell me if this is true or if I should upgrade to the 8120 or something else, thanks :) (If you need anything like the dxdiag just ask)

Solution
1) Bottlenecks vary by the game. Yes, a better CPU (ideally Intel i7-7700K) would make a big difference in some games but it's also a lot more expensive.

2) Your APU's CPU (you don't use the iGPU in the APU) is probably similar to a slighly overclocked FX-4300. It's not bad for a budget build, but again it depends on what games you have.

3) pretty sure the FX-8120 isn't compatible with that socket.

So... ?

Frankly, my advice is keep your system but TWEAK the game settings carefully rather than worry about finding "bottlenecks" in your system. You can go a long way with dropping shadows, anti-aliasing etc. Focus on the FPS you want.

For some games you can force "Adaptive VSYNC" in the NVidia control panel (make sure NVidia drivers...

For some games you can force "Adaptive VSYNC" in the NVidia control panel (make sure NVidia drivers are installed), then for 60Hz monitor tweak game settings so you hit 60FPS about 90% of the time (the other 10% it drops below and VSYNC auto turns off which causes screen tear but not added stutter).

Also, avoid games that are too demanding for your system. A good rule of thumb is make sure the GPU and CPU is well over the minimum requirements.

*It's hard to cram in a lot of advice here, but again there's lots of GREAT GAMES that aren't very demanding (some old, some new).

Solution
GAMES that would probably run well when properly tweaked in the settings (for your system):

- Bayonetta (new port of older game)
- amnesia dark descent/machine for pigs
- angry birds series
- assassin's creed up to #3
- batman arkham asylum, arkham city (probably but avoid DX11/PhysX)
- bioshock remastered
- bioshock infinite
- bulletstorm (not the updated one.. but can't buy anymore cheap likely)
- burnout paradise (racing game)
- earlier Call of Duty series such as COD4 Modern Warfare (I don't own later games like Ghosts)
- castlevania lords of shadows
- the cave
- deponia and other point/click
- Walking Dead series
- Command and Conquer 3 (and red alert 3)
- Crysis 1,2,3 (probably if tweaked)
- darksiders 1 and 2 (I'd avoid the "deathinitive" Darksiders II as it's too demanding)
- Dead Island
- most FIGHTING games
- Deus Ex GOTY (with Revision free mod in Steam)
- Deus Ex Human Revolution
- Dirt 2,3 (most racing games)
- Dishonored #1 (great game, ran well on my GTX680)
- DMC (Devil May Cry)
- DOOM
- Dragon Age Origins (ideal for higher-res monitor such as 2560x1440 though as lot of small text)
- *Dreamfall yes, but Dreamfall Chapters is a NO as it's very poorly optimized in later game.
- SKYRIM (I prefer Special Edition for smoothness, but still waiting SKSE to get SKYUI working... avoid texture mods)
- Fallout NV (use ifpsclamp=60 fix... still a great game)
- *Fallout 4 might be too demanding. Yes, you can get 40FPS or so but the game stutters like it has tourettes if you can't stabilize the frame rate (and I had problems at 60FPS or below.. had to stabilize to not drop below 61FPS for some odd reason. Yay, Bethesda!!

- GalCiv II and III
- Half Life 2, plus Ep1, Ep2
- hard reset
- kingdoms of amalur reckoning (fun fighting, but I'll never finish the game)
- LEGO games (most are okay, though HP5-8 is very demanding)
- mark of the ninja
- max payne 1,2 (and maybe 3)... note there are widescreen and audio fixes for 1,2 (pcgamingwiki). older games may still be worth it if you get cheap
- metal gear revengeance
- metro 2033/LL redux (probably, but avoid high sampling... above 0.5x I believe)
- Shadows of Mordor (AWESOME GAME and runs great)
- path of exile (online)
- portal 1,2
- psychonauts (with the HUD fix)
- resident evil 5 (a bit dated but still fun)
- Saint Row 3,4 (probably)
- Sam & Max series (I think the widescreen and launch issues went away...)

- shadowrun dragonfall director's cut
- shovel knight
- CIV5 (best with high-res monitor, same as shadowrun and most top-down, "god" games)
- Diablo 3
- SC2 (will see drops due to CPU in battles but still playable)

- Southpark the stick of truth
- stardew valley (bought my GTX1080 then played that for two weeks... sigh)
- super meatboy
- tales of monkey island
- titan quest anniversary
- Vampire the masquerade bloodlines (with 9.6Final mod)
- Dawn of War II Chaos Rising, Retribution..
- the Witcher enhance
- the Witcher 2 and 3?? (probably if tweaked well)
- XCOM2
- Gears of War 4 ?? (probably)
- MASS EFFECT 1-4 (probably)
