Most desktop PC motherboards don't ship with WiFi, you have to install a wireless card in one of the motherboard's expansion-slots, or you can buy a USB plug-in one.

Having said that, you should really avoid using WiFi on a desktop PC if at all possible, WiFi is primarily for portable devices like laptops, tablets & smartphones, not a PC which always stays in one place. You'll get a faster and more reliable connection with an ethernet wired connection so that's what you should use if you possibly can.

Apart from anything else, you'll need to use a wired connection anyway whenever you want to re-configure any wireless settings in your router's setup utility. If you use WiFi to do it you could lose the connection and then you'll be...

You'll also need to use a wired connection if you ever change your router and the new one needs setting up.

So it's always wise to have at least one computer which has a direct wired connection to the router.
