Hello, I just built my Ryzen system.

These are the specs ----> https://pcpartpicker.com/list/F9FJZ8

I got the system set up, a few kinks here and there but nothing I solved. Now, that my machine is up and running, I want to overclock. I tried by just turning on A-XMP and putting ram to 3200mhz but that would result in the PC turning off and on with just lights, no actual post. I tried putting voltage to 1.325v on cpu and 1.350v on ram. I put cpu to 4ghz. No OC. I need help please.

Solution
If your serious about OCing then you need the right tools.
Download AIDA64 free trial version and also HWinfo monitor which is now showing correct die and socket temps for the platform. Put them on your desktop together and run the stress test in AIDA64 for 10mins.

Keep an eye on your temperatures during the test and if you want your test analysed then take screen shots at the 10min mark. Upload your results here, you will need a file host and I use IMIGUR to provide the BBurl as a link.
You will have all the information you need for a successful and stable OC.

I have Corsair Dominators at 3000Mhz and am unable to successfully boot at their rated frequency without the system downclocking the CPU to 3.6GHz. You will find it rather...
Which Bios are you on SirTreePuncher.? There is a Bios update to version 1.1 as of 20/03/2017 which may help If you have not done so already.
You are using OC RAM at 3200MHz and not guaranteed to work without Bios intervention for changes in Primary Timings and Voltage. I have checked and your particular modules F4-3200C16D-16GTZR are not listed on the MSI QVL so have not been tested.

The ones tested are guaranteed to work however Bios revisions are ongoing atm for the Ryzen platform.
You can try manually keying in your memory SPD info in Bios and a few other Tweaks. Sometimes a slight Dram Voltage boost to 1.36V can help.

I thought 1.325v would be enough but ill definitely try a 1.3875 and work up from there. i did put in 4ghz and 1.325v and it did post, however when i did go back into bios it seemed as it was still at 3ghz with no changes.

Latest BIOS 1.1 and with RAM timings, I honestly don't know how to OC very well. I'm only 15, but what I did was change A-XMP to on, put the setting at 3200mhz. Set the timings as 16, 18, 18, 18, 38 in that order going down. I am testing a 3.7ghz 1.225v OC on CPU right now and it seems to do fine. So is there any other tips you have to help me get my ram to 3200mhz?

At 15, I'm impressed especially taking on the new AM4 and Ryzen platform.

There will be Bios updates and your going to have to be patient young pioneer, SirTreePuncher.
A 4.0GHz OC is about as high as you can go atm for stability. The UEFI Bios on this platform is new to even the most ardent OCers so keep up the good work. Your OCing expertise will come.

Even if your RAM is defaulting to a lower frequency, you will not notice any performance hit when playing Games. Have some gaming fun now with your system knowing you can MAX out your settings.

Speaking of stability, Have you stress tested the system at your current settings.?

My last rig was a 7700k and it was hitting almost 80c with 4.8ghz, and I was like ouch. Had a AIO too. But I was able to get a good CPU OC.

3.7ghz, 1.225v
3.9ghz, 1.3v
4ghz, 1.4v

All of those are stable but 1.4 seems a tad high. The color of the text changed from white to red, which scares me, however it is stable at this. My stress test was the CPU-Z stress and closing Skype at the same time with a few things open. Closing Skype during the stress shut down the 4ghz 1.3875v OC, so I upped it to 1.4v. Temps hit at most 65c during stress and currently 45c while idle. Any other suggestions you might have on overclocking ram and whatnot? I'd be really interested in hitting 3200mhz if i can, just for the challenge haha

I got it to a stable 4ghz at 1.4v. I'm a tad sad it had to be this high considering I've seen people say they've hit 4ghz on a 1700 at 1.35 and 1.375

I'm going for a RAM OC now, wish me luck.

I'll try that out now, thanks for the info. I was able to get my RAM to 2400mhz but that's it. I guess I will wait for it to be fully compatible before going for 3200mhz.
