So this is a problem that has been affecting me for a while. I recently upgraded my rig but has been doing it in the past. In the past, when I would put my computer to sleep for the evening, Ide wake up, click my mouse or keyboard and it would boot up just fine. Occasionally, for whatever reason, it would not. No response from even the power button. I found that I have to flip the main power switch in the back for 10 seconds, and then back on, and hit the front power button for it to come back on. Then when it did, it tried to resume my place on desktop at a PAINFULLY slow rate (15 mins to full functionality)

Fast forward couple months. I upgrade Rig. Same thing happens. Except now its every time I put it to sleep. It just wont come back alive. Keep in mind I have both mouse and keyboard checked to wake the system up from sleep.

The motherboard would normally be the first thing to suspect with sleep mode issues, but I see you've already changed to a different MB, so that shouldn't be the problem.

Considering it doesn't start properly until the power's been drained, it could be a problem with the power supply.

I've had random S3 sleep issues with nVidia cards since Tesla came out 10 years ago. S1 works but but leaves all the fans on so it's kind of pointless. So for nVidia cards I only use hibernate, which always works fine (Windows 10 Hybrid Sleep is both S3 sleep AND hibernate so also doesn't work if S3 doesn't).

Rightclick the start button and choose Power Options, then Choose What The Power Button Does to add hibernate and remove sleep from the shutdown menu. I also like to untick Turn on Fast Startup because that is essentially hibernating after logging you out for every shutdown, so a cold boot isn't a clean startup. If I wanted to hibernate then I'd like all my windows to stay open too.

Then change the Advanced sleep settings to never sleep, not allow Hybrid Sleep, and a time to hibernate after.

But with my old hardware it was sleeping/reviving 90% normally.

If it was having problems 10% of the time from the start, then something is definitely having problems. If it's a hardware issue, the problem will only get worse with time, and the part may not work at all eventually.

The sleep state is stored in RAM, so it could be a faulty module. Looking again at your hardware list, it appears you've swapped the 2x2GB modules for 2x4GB? If so, try removing the other two old ones so it's only using the new RAM.

Actually I had two different sized RAM pairs in there together. I didnt know at the time that was a bit of a no-no. I just thought same brand, same everything, it should add up. Everything worked fine (other then this) but later I read that it is actually ok to do, but your computer will run them both at the lowest frequency of the pair.

With that being said, Ive switched to a more regular 2x8. Also, yesterday evening I selected for the sleep mode not to auto sleep into hybrid sleep, and just do a normal sleep mode. This morning, everything booted right up fine. Ill do this a few more nights and keep things posted
