Hi guys, as stated on the title, i have 3 external hdds, 2 of them have partitions and ready to be installed with windows. Problem is, im not so sure if i can boot with those external drives. I know i have to tweak the bios settings so that i can boot with them.
Please tell me how and can it be used permanently?

Solution
the mainboard should have sata cables for data transmition, or red or black ones, for laptop they work, remember that ssd are the same so same cables

power comes form psu, sata power cable, if it is not a old psu, it should have them, if it doesn't have them you can buy a molex to sata converter

if it is your first time building a pc, wait to have all the parts, the laptop hard disk on those external drives is slow, will work faster than a usb connection but is slow and if you take it out and it was under warranty, you killed warranty

it is not a waste of money, usb will not give you speed in terms of os usage experience

try this guide

http://lifehacker.com/how-to-run-a-portable-version-of-windows-from-a-usb-dri-1565509124

i wouldn't bother and would buy a 120gb ssd and leave it as is and use those usb drives only when required

some external usb drives can be disasembled and use their hard disks directly connected to the pc, imprives speed, durability of the install and pc and is alot more simple

So apparently, 2 of these ext hdds are an internal hdd from a laptop, is it pretty much the same if i use it as an desktop hdd? I just need to buy sata cables right? or do i need to buy something specific for this?

Mobos always come with data cables for the HDD's, IDE or Sata, PSU 's come with power cables for all (2.5" and 3.5") HDD or drives...
