Hello I have recently brought a nvidia gtx 970 to go into my new rig but unfortunately I can't seem to be able to get the pci slot to register there's a card inserted.

Iv verified the slots are working with my old gt 520 card.

Iv checked that it's properly inserted (multiple times) and cleaned the slot and pins to make sure there's no dirt.

Iv checked and cleaned the two 6 pin power connectors.

Been through the bios to see if I can select it in there.

Checked to see if there's a updated bios.

And have cleared the cmos

Mobo: msi 970 gaming,
Psu: corsair vs650
Ram : 16 gb vengeance

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks in advance

did the monitor boot up with a display?
did you connect the video card cables to the graphics card (not the motherboard)?
did you clean install the latest drivers?
troubleshoot such steps with undetected graphics card on google search engine.

I can only plug the monitor into the graphics card as my mobo doesn't have integrated graphics.

Uninstalled and reinstalled all the drivers.

And have spent the past 2 days on google trying to find a fix for this problem with no luck so i decided to try asking someone instead.

Do you have a second GPU that you could add to test with?

I am currently having issues with my Z170a Plus where it always fails to recognise one of my cards no matter how many i install. Ie. it recognises 1 when i plug in 2 GPUs and 2 when i plug in 3.

This issue started after i updated the Motherboard BIOS so i am sure the source of the problem is there
