Will this card fit in my old computer? My current graphics card keeps overheating when I play World of Warcraft and crashing my computer...EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SSC GAMING

Solution
It sounds like your fans are working hard. This means things are getting too hot. Considering it's been 7 years since you got this computer, your CPU could need a new application of thermal paste. That stuff will turn to dust over time, and it'll interfere with cooling.

It might be a power supply issue, because those don't last forever either. I'd check CPU and GPU temps first though, MSI Afterburner is a program you can use for this.

I have had my gateway fx6840-03e since it first came out in 2010. About a year ago my computer started sounding like a jet and when I play WoW the sound goes higher, then higher, then higher. The fan on the GPU is spinning (as are the other 2 tower fans) and I have air cleaned the tower's insides. I even have the side of the tower open to try to stop it's overheating. While playing WoW, the monitor will suddenly shut off (not a problem with the monitor as I tried another just to be sure). Sometimes the computer will then shut down or sometimes I have to manually hold the power button to shut it down but the monitor remains black. No error messages appear upon restarting the computer after letting it sit for a half hour or so.
