sadly my omen died after 6 months of use they said that the components were fried but the thing that baffled me was i used a cooling pad and also always sat in an air conditions room when i was using it so im back to square one and my main question is that should i buy a desktop (i selected the ideacenter y900 (gtx 1070)) or go for a laptop again but my fears can true with the omen so i am a little skeptical about another gaming laptop any advice or help would be great btw my budget is around $1700

thank guys

Go for laptop only when you need to move your PC around. But if you don't plan moving your PC, go for desktop PC.

As far as Lenovo IdeaCentre Y900 goes, it's prebuilt PC and you will overpay for it. With the money you have, you can get the best performance if you buy components separately and install them by yourself, or let someone else install it for you.

If you're willing to build your own PC, fill this out and reply back to here,

+1 on what Aeacus said. Plus laptops now have desktop class cards, however they still are as expensive as ever. So like above, laptop if you move around alot, if not go desktop because you can make it super cheap with just as good of parts.
