Okay so I have 2x8gb corsair XMS ddr3 @ 1333
I believe it's dual channel as well..
So let's say I changed that speed to somethen like a 3000 for each stick if my mobo supported it, how big a difference is it? Is it significant? And also, dual vs single channel, any big differences.that are beneficial

Solution
it all depends on the rest of your system and what part is bottlenecking it. Currently, if you have a top build pc, going above 2133 is rarely noticable. Dual channel is like double the speed, so always prefer to dual channel your memories, prefer 2x8GB memories for instance, instead of 1x16GB.
