I was just wondering why my fps drops while streaming. Is it because of my cpu? It's a quad core 4.2hz amd black edition. Do you think I'd see an increase in performance with an 8 core? Is it worth the switch? I just need my streams to be less choppy and my fps not to drop by almost half. My possessor is pretty old. I have a evga 1060 ssc, asus mobo pro gaming 970, terabyte on hdd. (Soon will have ssd), 16 gigs of ddr3.

Your cpu is the problem here for sure your best bet is upgrading to a 8350 if you want to sat low budget as it fits the same socket but i will not recomend it as its not that great of a cpu anyways.

I would go for a ryzen 7/5 but that means you need to change both mobo and ram too.
Is your CPU an FX4xxx series, they are terribly weak by modern standards and even without streaming will bottleneck modern games. Really you need to upgrade to something like an i7 or Ryzen 5/7 for streaming modern games, the old FM3+ only supports obsolete CPU's.

Is ryzen cpu compatable with an am3+ mobo? I can run all modern games I play in ultra settings including Wildlands which literally just came out. It just drops FPS while streaming.
