Hi,
im having serious problems with my Audio Computer System, i dont know if its the MB or CPU or something else. Ive tried everything i can but im out of ideas.

Ive bought an Intel 6800k (6cores,for 3D Rendering and Multicore Audio Plug In use) 2x16gb Ram (no Quad used) and an Asrock X99 TaiChi board. Also i have a new Samsung NVMe 960 Evo 512GB SSD.
Before i bought the Taichi i had a Asrock Fatal1ty and had problems with the cpu, since it was too new. Anyway. After the bios flash, i still had probs. Bios/UEFI hang ups all the time and usb problems which slowed the whole system down. So i thought, ok, the new CPU isnt really for this board, so i bought the Taichi, since it was specially designed for these new cpus and should work fine with the NVMe SSD as well.

Yes it worked but still sometime, after i start the comp, the computer turns down, and restarts. So im guessing its still a bios problem. Anyway, there are no newer BIOS updates, than 1.40 which i already had originally installed.
I wouldnt really care for that restarts, but since i bought my computer mostly for making music it should work fine.

I have a Native instruments Komplete Audio 6 USB Soundcard, and it has dropouts/clicks every few minutes but this card is just for digital recording, just wanted to point that out.

Now im having huge problems with my RME MADIface USB soundcard. Which runs over usb 2.0 and should easily give me 64 channels of audio in 48khz, but even when i play a simple stereo file and move the mouse, after 10 seconds or so i have digital problems soundwise and gaps.

i tried all the USB ports, 2.0 and 3.0 all the same, and removed any other usb devices (except mouse and keyboard)
ive removed all internal HDDs , just to be sure, but still the same.
Ps. im not using any usb 3.0 or 3.1 devices so im not using the usb 3.1 ports.
ive installed every new software from the Asrock site.

still having those issues i described above.
no ideas what to do. Im really wondering what the problem herd is..
im so far that im gonna sell my MOBO and the CPU and go back for an 4core and buy a 6700k instead. :(
any ideas ?
thanks for any Tips.
(PS its not overclocked a bit)

Digital problems? Not sure what problems you are describing, If you are getting static issues or buzzing, it could be a ground loop issue which is usually a common issue, Which you would probably end up in the same boat with a 6700k system.

Also how long are your USB cables for the sound cards? If the cables are to long you could be loosing power. Have you tried using a USB 3 port? its on a different controller which could solve your problems.

Hi Viking, thanks for your thoughts,
here is my prob..
https://vimeo.com/214827556
(i used a simple sinewave 24bit 48khz)

every time i move the mouse i get weird feeps and dropouts.
my usb cable is just 1m short and i tried all kind of things, differnt cables, all usb ports, deactivated usb 3.0 , 3.1 Asmedia drivers in the bios, turned off intel speedstep, intel turbo boost, ethernet, wifi, bluetooth, cpu termal throttling, cpu C-State Support etc etc. software to 100% performance and so on.
im guessing its the asrock board. so i sold it and get a Asus Sabertooth X99 very soon. I hope those USB probs are gone then. !!!!!!
cheers mate. ;)

I had a simlar problem with windows 7 and 8.1 with usbs, I use a blue snow ball mic and it would not work if I had my usb headset plugged in, unplug the headset and the mic started working but would cut out sometimes, plug the headset back in and the headset would not work, i would get a message in windows saying I've exceeded the resource limit or something along them lines, Updating drivers did not fix it, and I have over 10 different usb devices. Installing window 10 I can pretty much use all usb devices and it wont throw a fit and they all work.

Not sure if this is related to you're issue, but i've read somehwere about x99 chipsets having issues with usb devices, i wonder if this the issue others talk about.

It wasnt the CPU, guess it was the board and the USB ports. In the end i sold the Asrock and bought a Asus Sabertooth Tuf x99. I had some probs there as well but with a lot of things switched of in the bios it finally worked. Also keep in mind not to use usb3 ports if you can and just plug in the stuff you really need. No printer or useless stuff since they share the usb port. Also i sold my RME Madiface USB later even if it, kinda , worked after i turned of the bios stuff. So now im on Madi HDMIe (PCIe) and it finally worked !

1: xHCI Hand-Off (bios/uefi)
2: Mousetrails on, (in windows) yes so weird it sounds. if you have probs in audio , dropouts etc try this.
3: Nivida hardware speed up, meaning software that uses the nVidia speed up, energy safe mode should be turned off (for each specific program)
also they said, "problems between the nvidia drivers and the bios are not meassureable via DPC latency. So Latency Mon would able to figure out whats wrong.

also they said those probs are just with intel cpus, not with amd. However..
probs between GPU Video Speedup and USB Drivers can be canceled out when the graphiccard is forbidden to clock down. (energy safe mode)
you have to chose "Maximum Power" or whatever the graphic card says there. definitly not "Energy safe mode"!!

also
4:intel speed step off (bios/uefi)
5:eek:nboard audio/bluetooth,wifi off (bios/uefi)
6: thermal throttling off (bios/uefi)
7: cpu C-States Support off (bios/uefi)

so if you follow all these steps, i guess youll be a bit further..
cheers
