Ram speeds bottleneck

So I've been wanting to play overwatch over 240fps at all times since I'm borrowing a 240hz monitor from a mate to try it out. But I'm playing overwatch on low settings and getting an average of 150 to 180fps most of the time which is strange when compared to benchmarks which show a gtx 1070 hitting an average around the 300fps cap with overwatch on low. I've tried a few things such as new and old drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling the game and reset my overclock on my cpu and nothing change the fps average. I had a look online and people are saying that faster ram speeds seem to fix this but the evidence provided hasn't completely proved this is the case with people saying that they bought faster memory with no affect. If anyone knows or is willing to test that faster ram speeds affect fps in overwatch, please respond.

BTW specs for information:

i5 3570k 4.4gz
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming
16gb ddr3 1333mhz
850w psu
asus rock z77
Overwatch is on a sdd (samsung 850 evo)

This is not true when talking about Overwatch. Running your ram in single channel vs dual channel or 1333 mhz vs 2400 mhz (doesn't need to be so drastic) significantly determines your fps. Some people get as much as 100 fps by going from slow (1333 mhz) to 2400 mhz or 3200 mhz.

Just google Overwatch ram speed and you will see what I am talking about. There is even some videos showing high end gpus (gtx 1070 with 1333 mhz vs 2133 mhz or something similar). I haven't had the chance to test how much cas latency and/or ram size matters though.
