Need advice on earphones

Hi folks,

my beloved earphones' life is coming to an end. I bough some Sennheiser earphones more than 10 years ago for about 60€ (roughly £50 or $70-$80) and I love them but lately they have been showing their age and some of the wire is showing. I'm very pleased with the sound quality and the build quality but I think that the inevitable will happen sooner or later and I will need a replacement.

So my question is, are Sennheiser earphones still a good quality choice? Are their other equivalent options? What similar product would you recommend in the same price spectrum? My main concern is that they need to be robust as I used my earphones a lot and in all sorts of places/situations, even when I sleep lol

Thanks a lot for your answers

The general quality of most products is declining. Along with support for those products....

Go someplace where you can go "hands on" and try new Sennheiser's. Listen on them if at all possible.

If the new earphones (probably a new model number) meet your expectations then they are probably okay as before. See if the "fit and feel" are what you know. Or is there now some "flimsiness" - thinner wires, not so soft ear pads, shorter cable, etc.. What ever is applicable to your current model.

"Hands on" is the most important evaluation.

However, just spend a few minutes online to look for newer reviews via verified purchasers and objective product reviewers.

Go to the website and read the forums, FAQs, and even the user manual...

Unless there are some serious "red flags" stay with what you know.

Thanks, I always do research online before being buying but I wanted to know where was Sennheiser now as when I bought mine, they were highly recommended. But that was 10 years ago. I know that 60€ isn't the most expensive for a pair of earphones but still... I don't wanna throw my money away if Sennheiser have gone down on quality. Bose was also a good brand in my days, but they've been surfing on some sorts of hype lately and I wouldn't want to by a hyped marketed product at the expense of quality.

I will do some digging but if people generally say that Sennheiser are still a good brand, I'm happy to stick with them :)
