Ok so im experiencing high disk with windows 7 64 bit whereas I didnt seem to have this with 32 bit. Usually with processes such as System or svchost. This is with 2 HDs whose SMART status comes up as good but it is still possible they are at fault cause one is old and the others age is unknown. In both instances the disk usage occurs on clean installs. I was wondering if this could be a problem specific to windows 7 64 bit?

It's because you dont have enough memory...Windows has to use HDD for swapfile....

And before you ask...

"A swap file (or swap space or, in Windows NT, a pagefile) is a space on a hard disk used as the virtual memory extension of a computer's real memory (RAM). Having a swap file allows your computer's operating system to pretend that you have more RAM than you actually do. The least recently used files in RAM can be "swapped out" to your hard disk until they are needed later so that new files can be "swapped in" to RAM."

Be logical!? You refuse to believe what people are telling you...
If you "cant" install more memory, your only choice is to edit virtual memory settings and alocate more disk space to your virtual memory....
