Dear all,
Next week I going to buy a used video card for amateur video (HD) editing purposes (Hitfilm4 software). Gaming is not in the scope.
I have a HP Z220 CMT workstation with the nVidia Quadro NVS 290. The power supply is 400W. The maximum power consumption for graphic card stated in the manual is 150W.
The rest of configuration is Core i7-3770 / 16GB DDR3 / SSD / DVD-RW / a cardreader / Windows 10 Pro. I going to add there the second SSD or HD and, maybe, another 16 GB of RAM.
Overclocking - no. The monitor resolution is 1920x1200 (may end up with two such).
I consider 2GB GTX 660 Ti .
Here is a good comparison of graphic cards with a real-life example in Adobe Premiere CC.
Please, advise which graphic card will be the best for that power consumption limit (used, under 200 USD)? Changing PSU is not an option. High cooler noise will be an issue.
