I plan on getting a 1080 ti which requires an 8 pin connector and a 6 pin connector; this would be fine but I only have two 8 pin slots on my PSU left, not a 6 pin and 8 pin. Can I plug my 6 pin cable into one of the 8 pin slots on the PSU? If that would work, i am going to order cable mod cables (8 to 8 pin cable and a 6 to 6 pin cable) and I dont know if this snap in bit ( https://gyazo.com/01723ea7daf82a8f69bc8af23986b10d ) would prevent me from plugging it into the PSU ( https://gyazo.com/b1f4c3065014f632bdb327ee44f6c484 )

GPU: GTX 1080 ti founders edition
PSU: Corsair SF600W

TLDR; I want to plug this ( https://gyazo.com/cdf0c1d4269bdb6f5cd43ea4ee5a8746 ) into this
( https://gyazo.com/d421e8c0582a1287dc1a494cb1c72eda ) so it looks like this
( https://gyazo.com/9f6a6da7e1f6e898e06a081180dbd3fa ) with 2 pins exposed.
sorry if this is kinda complicated, hope the pictures could help

I know that I could use the 6+2 cable but it leaves a little hangy bit that looks ugly, so there's no other way?
