yes you can. the old prescott chips were the 64-bit varients of the pentium 4.
depends what you use it for. 32bit win 7 and old dx 9 - 10 games will run ok. but AAA titles from the last 2.5 years dx11 - 12 wont run.

Some older PentiumD were 32 bit, some were 64 bit. This may or may not be because some were LGA775, and some were Socket 478. See the spec. of your chipset/BIOS to see what you can run on your MB.
