Quick question for ya! My computer died today. Found out it was a messed up water cooling system that is causing the issue. Anyway, I decided it was time for an update anyway. So I'm ordering a new motherboard, CPU, and cooling system and I'm going to take out the rest and use it with the new motherboard. My only question is how do I prep my current harddrive to work with the new components? I would prefer to not have to reinstall everything but I don't mind if I have to because I don't have any super sensitive documents or pictures I keep on it and I can just re download everything I need. My question is more drivers and making sure windows will boot up with the new computer. I have Windows 10 and mine is a download not a disk form so I can't just clear the harddrive and download it with the new motherboard because it won't boot otherwise. I'm also going from AMD CPU to intel so I know thats a factor as well. Any suggestions on how I can prep to get it to work? Or what I can do if I need to clear the harddrive to get everything to work? I do have cruddy old harddrive with backed up files that works decent enough to get a few things done. Thanks!

Install OS when you have all new parts in machine (at least CPU + mobo).
You don't have to wipe drive manually, Windows installer will do that during install.
Best way is to use windows media creation tool to create bootable USB and install from it.

It's always best to do a fresh windows install. This will wipe your drive so back up anything you can't loose. This could also make you need to buy a new windows code is it won't register.
Stop using water cooling I think you can see that now.

Thanks for the help! So I have a backup already should I just wipe the drive now and do the fresh install of windows on my current computer? Or do I need to wait until I have the new parts in to install Windows? If I need to wait what's the best way to get Windows on the drive since I won't have a disk drive?
