The hard drive description of my Acer 1TB HDD drive is SATA. Can I upgrade this to an SSD? Are all SATA drives upgradeable to SSD?

SATA is the interface to the computer not a type of drive storage tech. You can swap out the drive for an SSD. Which will also be a SATA one.
